We have already talked about diving a bit. Our plan was to learn diving at the Weligama Bay Dive Center and also surf a bit in Weligama. To be close to the diving school we picked a well rated trip advisor hotel right next to it. For Monday morning, we had an appointment to start at 8:30 am with the course. Unfortunately the owner had spaced it out, or had just too many divers already there and didn’t want to start the course with us. So he said we should come again tomorrow and could start with theory today in the afternoon.
Alright we thought, no stress, we check out Mirissa and come back in the afternoon.
Mirissa
A Tuk Tuk to 3-4 km away Mirissa was about 300 rupees (which is about 2 €).
The beach there was stunning. And we thought, shhhhiiiiiiid. Why are we staying in Weligama and not Mirissa.
We took a stroll at the beach and had a king coconut, for 50 rupees (and many many will follow) and a sliced pineapple, for about 200 rupees.
Back again at the diving school at afternoon we could start with theory lessons on a small laptop in the “office”. 
Funny experience but you could definitely tell that there is a substantial difference to a western european diving school already 🙂
