Monday 2nd February

For the first night at Sandy’s we stayed at the beachfront Coconut Cabana. But the romantic idea of being really close to the water turned out to be pretty noisy. Especially here at this area of the beach the break is too loud and as we are Austrians we tend to complain about everything. It’s in our DNA I would say 🙂

Anyway, after 2 nights we moved to another Cabana in the back to have a good night sleep. During the day we checked out the area and the other accommodations around. Ganesh gardens looked supergood. More calm and enough shade to hang out at noon, plus very comfy hammocks directly at the beach.

So our advice again. Try to go to a new area and just book one night ahead, and then check out the surroundings. Usually there is always a nicer accommodation close.

Walking around and checking out the area we found two nice areas two swim about 1km in direction Tangalle at the beach.

At the Rekawa Lagoon you can also do rent a boat and check out the wildlife. Or just hang out at the wonderful beach, take a strowl and get a King Coconut.

Tangalle itself is a town which got the right size and offers everything you need. More Photos of the beach area around Sandys here.
